Review of Hot Grrls:

First Impression:

I got kind of excited when I saw the URL on this one.  I associate the whole Grrl thing with the radical feminist collective called Riotgrrls  I guess I was picturing angry, proud punk looking women in leather and latex.  Anyway, this is what I get for reading too much into a web address.  Instead I find a very straightforward site of original photography, leaning toward the amateur, softcore end of the adult spectrum.  I like the uncluttered feel of things at hotgrrls.com, though it's pretty clear that this one's far from a "mega-site."

Girls who go Grrr!:

Alright, they're not really a tough looking lot.  In fact, the 10 featured models at Hotgrrls look (not unpleasantly) like a group of middle-America's myriad closet smut junkies, the types who send dirty pics to porn publications trying to become the Grrl-next-door of the month.  That's not a bad thing, mind you; if you're looking for women of color, silicon-enforced starlets, or 6'2" runway models, however, the array of feminine forms here might not be quite to your liking.  You'll of course do better to simply have a peak at the samples, as I've never been much for attempting to objectively grade womens' beauty.   Just so you know where I'm coming from, though, Alexis is the standout babe of this bunch for my tastes.

In terms of the content, all the photo galleries are labeled according to their level of explicitness which ranges from "clothed," to "suggestive" to "erotic."  I was fortunate enough to find that most of the models I particularly admired went the whole way, not only getting their clothes off but their fingers (and the random pacifier and popsicle) "into play" as well.  That's about as far as it gets in terms of  raunch, though, so all you hardcore smut junkies can just take it elsewhere! You get my drift: this is primarily an "erotic" and "lingerie" site.

The photo galleries themselves range in size from about 25 pics up to 80 or more, most offering 40-50 shots.  Each of the ten models has a number of galleries/shoots, ranging from a mere 3 to an impressive 27 for big-bosomed, beauty-marked Roxy who unfortunately hasn't yet gotten past "suggestive"  in her work.  Photos are almost universally 600X800 in size and quite clearly composed, if not particularly creative in terms of the poses or the settings.  Oh, there's also, in theory, a zip file download option, but after trying 6 dead links and save-target-as commands in a row, I gave up.

Short and Sweet:

In fact, those are the most apt things I can say about Hotgrrls.com:  it's perhaps short on content (most notably in the complete lack of video), but what there is has a distinct charm and sweetness to it.  Most of the models aren't conventionally gorgeous exactly, but they all present a confident sexiness and seem to take pleasure in what they're doing.  Photos aren't really at the height of glossy, hi-resolution nudie pics, but they're quite worth collecting all the same, assuming you find the models enticing to begin with.  Easy navigation and a nice slideshow system prevents the dreaded carpal-tunnel syndrome known to many a web wanker, and the relatively low price of $14.95/month keeps the oh-shit-I-spent-the-food-money-on-smut-again guilt complex at bay.  In the end, I'm not raving about this one, but the Hotgrrls do have their charms.
