| Review of High Def Movie Pass:
Things are always better in high definition. No, I'm not just talking about porno. Although that is a big part of why we are here today. But imagine our stereo systems. How much better do they sound when they are in high definition? Yes, I am onto something here. Our vehicles? Ten times better when given high definition! So obviously when you attach the word high definition to something, you expect it to be better. But that doesn't always mean that it is. Which is why I am here to review for you High Def Movie Pass. Let's take a look at the site and see if it is High Def or high hype!
High Def Movie Pass is a site with a focus on porn movies. Yes, I know, that can apply to just about everything we review here. Well, they focus on having porn movies that look very good. I guess the theme here is that they are supposed to be great quality movies. But at the same time, this isn't much of a theme. Saying something is a great quality is nice; but as a theme it is kind of weak. And I think the theme here is pretty poor. I mean, High Def Movie Pass could apply to just about anything. Its just not focused enough for me. With that said, it can still have lots of great content. That is something we will look at now.
When you sign into High Def Movie Pass, you get a little poll and a few pictures on the top. Following this, you get a listing of recent updates. Each of these recent updates has four thumbnails, one which is more like a portrait and the other three being more along the lines of action thumbnails. There are three of these. Then there are the archives, which basically shows a portrait type thumbnail of each girl. That is about it for the site, save for some bonus sites on the side and some live sites on the bottom. The site is not big on previews, as you can tell. You can get an idea of what each girl looks like, but that is about it. The thumbnails on here are kind of tiny, and they just don't really do a whole lot for me. While there is nothing with this site design that is patently offensive, I just think it could have been done a lot better.
With a name like High Def Movie Pass, you can bet the focus here is on movies. When you get into a girls set page, you get a little description and one more thumbnail. Again, the preview system on this site is very very weak. You really don't have a great grasp on what you are getting from this site until you actually view the movies. The movie options you are given here are WMV in High, Medium, and Low, and also Quicktime in Medium and Low. Each video is only available in full length form no matter which option you choose. The whole design of the videos page is a little weak in nature, if you ask me. Its not so much bad as it seems hastily thrown together.
So how is the quality here? Well, as you can imagine by the name, the quality is pretty good. The videos play at 1072k at highest quality of WMV. And the quality is really good. At full screen, there is a little bit of pixelation but not really a whole lot. The videos are pretty good looking, but I wouldn't say they are perfect or even worthy of the name high def. You see, when you give a site a name like this, you are expected to be really really great. And I think that these are some great quality videos, but they just aren't quite perfect.
I could rank the photos here- but there aren't any. I think that with the name of the site, you wouldn't expect much. And throw in the fact that the thumbnails are weak, I wouldn't even say anyone who is into pictures will be happy with this. There are plenty of great picture sites, however, so this isn't a huge loss if you ask me.
The girls here on High Def Movie Pass are pretty damn hot. With that said, a lot of them are common to porn. I would say that I recognized at least half of these girls from other sites or just other porn movies. Maybe not the most original stuff in the world, but it is still very good stuff. The movies really play like high quality, studio shot porn movies. They just have top notch girls, top notch camerawork, and even top notch quality. Everything is top notch but it just doesn't quite all click.
At the time of review, there are a total of 19 sets of content. The site does not give us any idea of how often it is updated. Therefore, I cannot tell you how often it is updated and give you any idea as far as that is concerned. As you can see, these are all similar sites, some with more focused themes than the one here. They are all nice sites, and overall you get some great videos with the combination of all the sites.
Conclusion
I think this is a good site, but it just lacks a little bit of that sparkle that I would like for it to have. It's too vague in concept and a little lacking in execution. Overall, this is still a recommended site. But I just think that it could be a lot more with a little tweaking. What really disappoints is it's focus on HighDef when infact the clips can at times be downright disappointing in quality.
